Cigale Tabarka Golf

Known for its coral fishermen and its Jazz Festival, Tabarka is also known for hosting one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world: La Cigale Tabarka Golf. A course that extends over 110 ha and offers 7 holes by the sea.

La Cigale Tabarka Golf is designed by Ronald Fream, a Californian architect who has designed more than 100 prestigious courses around the world. Since 1992, the course has undergone several modifications such as the widening of the fairways, the reduction of the number of bunkers, the studied pruning of a luxuriant vegetation composed of oaks, corks, pines, agaves, thyme, rosemary … The Par 72 of 6303 meters recorded the creation of three lakes, several rocky banks and a covered driving range. Technically, the course has the reputation of being one of the most difficult courses around the Mediterranean.

Tabarka
Tabarka was founded by the Numidians and flourished under the Roman Empire, becoming the main port for the export of polychrome marble as well as cork and cereals. Later, it becomes the place of one of the most important battles of civilizations between the Berbers and the Arabs. It is indeed there that the Kahena, last Berber queen, was defeated by Hassan Ibn Numan in 702.

Tabarka is a coastal town whose name, etymologically of Berber origin, means “country of heathers”. The heart of Kroumirie, the region is known for its fishy seabed, cork oaks, coral and a beautiful rock on which is built a sumptuous Genoese fort.
