The Maghreb Institute of Management and Tourism: “The Golden Fork 2018” under the theme of authentic Tunisian cuisine

The Maghreb Institute of Management and Tourism organizes the Third edition of the National Culinary Contest “La Fourchette d’Or”, and retains the theme of the “Authentic Tunisian Cuisine” for the test of Cuisine and “Entremet Tunisian on Plate” for the pastry test. The objective of the contest is to showcase the richness of Tunisian culinary heritage and especially to make young people aware of the importance of Tunisian gastronomy.

Cooking is part of a country’s culture. This symbolizes not only its image abroad but, in the light of certain economic imperatives, becomes one of the major reasons for the development of tourism and its accessibility to export its agri-food products to the world. It is in this context that the Maghreb Institute of Management and Tourism launched the first national culinary in Tunisia under the name of “The Golden Fork”, the contest is established since 2015 and is in its third edition.

The first two editions were very successful nationally and internationally, allowing the IMM to host the North African selections of the WORLD CHOCOLATE MASTERS 2018 World Chocolate Cup organized by the chocolate brand “CACAO BARRY”

The organization of the competition is part of a pedagogical project and allows to develop key competences for future restorers. It is also a moment of meeting between the trainees who are invited to show their know-how in gastronomy and to live moments of pleasure by sharing their common passion and to promote Tunisia as a destination for culinary tourism.

The objectives of this competition are the development and enhancement of key skills for future Maghreb leaders and the promotion of the excellence of the know-how of new graduates. The event is organized with private sector schools accredited by the MFPE. (Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment), the schools of the ATFP (Tunisian Agency of Vocational Training) and the schools of ONTT (Tunisian National Tourism Office).

The Maghreb Institute of Management and Tourism is a private institution that opened in September 1996 and whose main activities are initial and ongoing training in the field of tourism and hospitality, it benefits from a faculty both Tunisian and foreign qualifications.
